Melkinlaituri edge beam reinforcement and formwork – Louhintahiekka Oy

We operated as a diving subcontractor for Louhintahiekka Oy at the Melkinlaituri site located in Jätkäsaari, Helsinki. The project included the installation of edge beam reinforcements as well as formwork for the edge beam at approximately –2.0 meters below sea level. The repair area of the site was approximately 400 m².

The work was carried out by a five-person diving team. In addition to the diving operations, we were also responsible for construction tasks on the surface, such as pre-assembling formwork and preparing reinforcements.

The project schedule was very tight, but thanks to efficient working methods, our divers were able to deliver approximately 20 linear meters of ready-to-cast formwork wall within about 1.5–2 working weeks.

We are particularly proud of this reference project, as we successfully completed the diving work safely, with high quality, and on schedule despite demanding winter conditions.
